Estyn Inspection
IN November 2025 we were visited by a team from Estyn, please find the report below to see the strengths they highlighted and the recommendations for our way forward.
Our reflections
During the week of November 10th, our school underwent a three-day inspection by Estyn, His Majesty’s Inspectors in Wales. The process was thorough and focused on three key areas:Teaching and LearningWell-being, Care, Support and GuidanceLeadership and Improvement
The inspection involved lesson observations, learner discussions, staff and parent meetings, interviews, and book reviews. It was an intense and rigorous experience, yet the team of four inspectors approached their work with professionalism and compassion, quickly appreciating the unique context and challenges of our school.Attached is the full inspection report, which we are extremely proud to share. While it includes recommendations for further improvement, these align with the priorities we had already identified through our own self-evaluation. Please take time to read the report. It is a powerful affirmation of who we are: small, but mighty.I would like to express heartfelt thanks to:Our dedicated staff, whose daily commitment shines through every word of the report. The Governing Body and our families, for their unwavering support and constructive challenge.FOLS, for their tireless fundraising and enthusiasm. And most importantly, our children, whose pride, passion, and values blew away the Estyn team throughout the inspection.
This report is a welcome validation, but it simply confirms what we already know.We are Llandysilio: small but mighty, the school at the heart of our community. And today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our journey. Day One.Diolch yn fawr,Mr Andrews
