The Welsh Government allocates extra funding to schools to assist pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals (eFSM). This grant aims to reduce any disadvantages these learners may face due to limited access to opportunities compared to those from more financially secure backgrounds.

The Pupil Development Grant (PDG) is not assigned to individual pupils; instead, each school determines how best to use the funding. Our goal is to ensure that all learners have equal access to high-quality teaching, learning, extra curricular experiences and support so they can reach their full potential.
